Alex and Alana, Mount Mulligan Elopement.

Classic and modern with a pinch of the rugged Queensland outback. This is how I would describe Alex and Alana’s elopement at Mount Milligan. It started with a 30-minute helicopter flight from Cairns Airport with Nautilus Aviation and what followed was a little scenic trip over the lodge and mountain ridge. When we landed I experienced my first 6-star service. It totally blew my mind. Mount Mulligan Lodge offers boutique accommodation in the shadow of majestic Mount Mulligan. I believe they only have 10 lodges and hosts a maximum of 20 guests at a time. Anyways… the vibe, architecture, staff and location was 10/10.

Capturing these two really made me appreciate my job and shine a new light on it. This was my first wedding as a "fiancé" (such a strange and fancy word) and for the first time, I placed myself in the Grooms shoes. I was super excited for Alex and continued to reflect on how he must be feeling (let’s say I was his personal cheerleader). It was the simple things that made me happy. Alex tying his own bowtie for the first time. The first look and reactions that followed. And chasing the sun before it set over Mt Mulligan. Could my Monday get any better? Easily the best Monday of 2021.

The most memorable moment was when the three of us were cruising around on 4WD electric UTV vehicles to get to the photo locations. The freedom of driving around the property while passing historic sights and breathtaking views were everything! Their classic and modern style worked so well with the outback backdrop. I’m a sucker for a good hat. And well… Alana’s hat game was strong. And who said you can't wear a black tux in the outback? Alex looked super sharp 🤟
