Madeleine and Tom, Mt Mulligan Elopement - Destination Weddings Queensland.
Mount Mulligan Lodge has been a hotspot for elopements since the rise of the pandemic. Many couples that planned/postponed their wedding time and again decided it wasn’t worth the extra stress or heartache. They cancelled their plans and decided to go on their own adventure. Mt Mulligan has been this spot for couples to be adventurous, disconnect, eat amazing food, chill by the pool and get married.
Madeleine and Tom knew from the start that this was how they wanted to get married. No guests, no stress and some savings to go towards their house deposit. It’s was a 30-minute flight with Nautilus Aviation from the Cairns Airport to reach the luxury outback resort. We spent the first few hours listening to music and drinking champagne in the lodge while Shae from Tropical Beauty completed the hair & makeup. Just before the ceremony, I chilled out with Tom as he prepared for the first look and relaxed any nerves with a glass of Makers Mark whiskey.
The ceremony location was under an ancient outback Frangipani tree. With a backdrop of Mt Mulligan, it was the perfect location for Tammy from Creating Moments to host an intimate ceremony. It was sweet, personal and intimate. It’s what Tom always wanted. A one-on-one vow exchange with no extra stress from a large group of people. We spent the rest of the afternoon chasing the light in our electric 4x4 buggies. The photo locations are endless and you’ll never find a location that matches the beauty of this mountain range.
